Promoting a Live Event in a historic setting

Promoting a Live Event in a historic setting

An annual event hosted by Fox Nation to honor everyday heroes, including military veterans and first responders. The Patriot Awards has been held in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry House and features performances and honorees. My task was to draw inspiration from the historic site of the Grand Ole Opry House and Hatch Show Prints. And design a site that could flex through all phases of promoting the event.

Hatch Show Prints
From 1879 through most of the twentieth century, Hatch Show Print’s vibrant posters served as a leading advertising medium for southern entertainment, ranging from members of the Grand Ole Opry like Bill Monroe, Minnie Pearl and Ernest Tubb, to rock & roll impresarios such as Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry.

Nashville
Nashville, known globally as "Music City," has a rich musical history originating from 18th-century settlers. It became a country music powerhouse with the 1925 launch of the Grand Ole Opry, often called "Mother Church of Country Music". In the 1950s the "Nashville Sound" brought country music to appeal to a broader pop audience and laid the groundwork for country-pop crossover hits.

Proposed Looks

An important focal point was the historic venue for this event; The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville Tennessee. Referencing The Opry house and the city of Nashville as touchpoints in American Music history was important to include in the visual designs.

Work In progress

Explorations of typography image treatment and layout while keeping a modular design that can adapt to different stages; announcement, pre-sale, ticket sales and sold out states as well as a template that can be reused for subsequent events.
