Elevate the execution of Artwork within the UI.
At Fox, I led the effort to define and elevate the execution of artwork within the product UI.
Storytelling and visual expression are a major part of the product, experience and perception.
With the close integration of artwork and UI there are many considerations to creating effective imagery.
I worked to lead the effort by defining artwork standards, presenting solutions and results to creative leads and executives. As a hands on contributor, I built fail safe Photoshop templates, leveraging smart objects, clear UI guides and automation to reduce the margin for error and the time to get artwork live. I communicated these via centralized guide hubs (Zeroheight, Confluence) to distributed teams with regular audits and updates as the UI evolved.–-
Editorial Image Guides
With publish once to many platforms each needing some dynamic size and crop considerations, maintaining the image integrity requires clear guidance.
Posters
Posters for original content are displayed at various sizes, from large screens to mobile views.
The artwork and typography needs to be clear, compelling and understandable.
Who Is
Live Event
The Live Events Template allows us to create assets for timely events that are covered live by
Fox Weather or Fox Live Now or an Ad Hoc Live Event.
Required assets are the same as a Destination, but the template is customized specifically for Live Events.
Results:
Reduced timeline of creation/edit/approval for editorial content.
Increased capacity for syndication to 29 local news station sites.
Reduced onboarding time, oversight and errors for editorial staff.
