Building a design system for internal tools
Role: Lead Design
Fox needed to upgrade it's content management tools, pushed beyond what they were originally built for… This is the design system and development framework for internal tools used by content creation and back-end teams. The primary focus is on efficiency, making complex workflows simple, and allowing developers to quickly build and deploy new tools with a consistent UI. Arches Design System helps streamlines processes like content publishing and managing artwork and videos, reducing pain points in daily workflows.

Team
Cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, and executives

For Users,
Learning curve is steep.
Switching among tools is tedious and time-consuming.
Managing metadata in multiple tools increases errors and outages.
For Developers, Teams are solving similar problems.
Spinning up new tools is labor intensive.
Not all teams have front end developers
For Designers,
Lack of centralized assets and patterns make it harder to share.
Interfaces, tools and functionality scales faster than staff.
Lack of systems thinking creates gaps in product clarity and slows development handoff.
